We have a comprehensive selection and training program in place for this position. Here are some details:
As a Victim Services Crisis Response Volunteer, I will have an opportunity to:

I am 18 years of age or older

I have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license

I have no record of a criminal offence
-
I can provide 3 references

I understand the need for confidentiality

I agree to respect and maintain confidentiality

I remain calm and clear minded in crisis situations

I have good decision-making skills
-
I respect other's choices
-
I can support people whose life and circumstance are different than mine

I am able to provide onsite support in a variety of locations

I successfully complete the volunteer training

I can make a one year commitment to the program

How do I become a Victim Service Crisis Response Volunteer ?

Contact our office for volunteer information and application package

Complete the application and reference forms and return them to the office

Meet with program staff prior to training to learn more about the program and provide consent for my reference and criminal reference checks to be completed

Successfully complete the orientation training and a personal interview
-
Successfully complete a probationary period
-
Participate in ongoing training sessions
